The Angel

Song: "Angels We Have Heard on High" (Hymns.....)

The angel announced unto the shepherds, "For unto you in born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger" (Luke 2:11-12).

A choir of heavenly angels echoes the announcement of the first angel with praise of God: "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men" (Luke 2:13-14). Whether the choir was made up of spirits who had once lived on earth or those waiting to be born, the emotion in their announcement would have been profound. They deeply understood and celebrated what few people on earth realized: "The hopes and fears of all the years are met in [the little town of Bethlehem] tonight."

Activity: Call grandparents and sing Christmas Carols to them.
