When Harvey saw the commercials for the Disney show "Brave", he instantly wanted to see it. And asked repeatedly to see it each and every day for a month. While we were in California before bed one night I asked him excitedly, "Guess where we are going tomorrow?!" and Harvey replied, "To see BRAVE?!!!" (the answer was Sea World). Crazy kid.
Anyway, when we got back we decided it was about time for him to see a movie in theater. Well, he did see Curious George, the Christmas Movie, but it was scheduled just for kids in case they got noisy. We took Avery to play with Grandma Keetch and headed over to the theater.
Harvey was so excited when he saw all of the posterboard figures in the lobby...
He was thoroughly entertained while Justy grabbed the tickets. Love that guy.
Justin chose the 3D version, so we grabbed our glasses and went in to find a seat. I was completely floored that the theater was totally empty. After we sat down, one other couple came in and that was it. Seriously, on a Saturday afternoon? Wow. Were we so late to see this thing?
I got a couple pics of us in our sexy glasses and we settled to watch the show.
Despite the look on his face.. he really was excited to see the show. And hold the popcorn.
I liked it. The story was cute, I loved the triplets, and Merida's attitude. I also loved that she realized where she was wrong and apologized (unlike other protagonists that are always right and their parents/older figures are always wrong). However, there wasn't a whole lot to the plot. I guess I have high expectations when it comes to Disney-Pixar, and I was a little disappointed.
Harvey gave it 4 stars.... he docked one because he got a little scared when the two bears fought near the end. I looked over at him during that part and he had taken his 3D glasses off, I asked him if he wanted to put them back on, but he said it was too scary to watch (although he was watching, just not through the glasses, silly boy.) I snuggled with him and when the fight was over he put them back on.
Though, I'm not really sure how much he saw through them...
He sure liked holding that popcorn.
