We had such a great Father's Day weekend. (Like a month ago, I know, but please bear with me while I catch up on this little 'ol blog of mine.)
On Friday, my mom, the kids and I went to the cemetery to visit my dad's grave. The kids fell asleep on the way, and my mom wanted a picture of Avery there... but I wasn't about to get her out of the car. Her first little tooth has been working it's way up and she hasn't been sleeping great. Anyway... it was nice to visit again and show our love and respect for an amazing dad. I am so lucky to have such a great example of hard work, compassionate service, and optimism. Love you, Dad!
On Sunday, the kids and I woke Justin up - after letting him sleep in a bit - with a Father's Day song: "Happy Father's Day to You..." After the song was over, Harvey belted out, "Happy BIRTHDAY, Dad!" It was hilarious. He followed us downstairs where he saw his gifts laid out. We made him a posterboard-sized Candy Gram, got him a couple of summer dress shirts and some solar yard ornaments. We already had some, but he wanted to add more.
They are so fun! In the evening we had to go outside for a light show.
We were having such a good time outside in the yard before church we totally lost track of time... and were a little late! After church we headed over to Justin's parent's house for dinner, but not before I snapped a few pictures of the kids and their daddy!
Oh, how they love their daddy.
Harvey says that only daddy can...
- push him high on the swings because he is strong!
- wrestle. Mommies don't wrestle.
- work in the yard.
- whistle. (He's right.. I can't.)
Avery thinks that only daddy can...
- get her to sleep in church.
- make her belly laugh.
- let her stay up late just to snuggle on the couch.

I don't know about you, but seeing my hubby snuggle our daughter just makes my heart melt. Malia has Kev completely wrapped around her little finger but I'm not sure if he's ready to admit it yet...
