Found

Sometime earlier this year I started to gather up all of the baby gear to organize and set up in what would become the nursery. I am a pretty organized person, so finding most of that gear took only a little effort. But one thing, no matter how many places I looked, just didn't turn up.

The baby monitor.

I had the receivers... but they were pretty useless without the transmitter. I looked, and re-looked anyplace that seemed logical to store such an item. I called my sister-in-law to see if I had taken it to her house while I was babysitting her girls. I called my aunt in California to see if I had taken it on vacation with us when Harvey was one. I looked everywhere in our house. Or so I thought.

I finally accepted the fact that it was gone. Somehow. And I borrowed a monitor from my sister-in-law. But it still bugged me. A lot.

Then one morning while Harvey and I were in the kitchen, he came up to me and said he "couldn't put it back." He was talking about the heating vent (umm, why would you want to play with that child?!), and when I went over to put it back and tell him it wasn't a toy, something caught my eye.

Yeah. I was bewildered and ecstatic at the same time.

Then I checked inside all of the other heating vents searching for more treasure.
